Krishna River originates near Jor village in Satara district, at a height of 1,337 metres, just north of Mahabaleshwar, from the Western Ghats. It is the 3rd longest river in India and measures around 1,400 km from source to outflow into the Bay of Bengal. 

 

The Jor village is remote, tranquil, and surrounded by nature. It is situated in the far northwest of the Wai Taluka.
